About this deal

We reviewed this Region free UK Ultra HD Blu-ray release on a JVC-DLA N5 Ultra HD 4K projector (for main HDR10 viewing), a Philips 50PUS6754/12 Ultra HD 4K TV (for a DV/HDR10 comparison) and a Panasonic DP-UB9000 Dolby Vision/HDR10 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray player(for HDR10 viewing) and a Sony UBPX700 Dolby Vision/HDR10 Ultra HD Blu-ray player (for DV/HDR10 comparisons). Nearly thirty years after the first film coined the term ‘meta’ and we’re still asked to think that naming characters after horror directors is clever? Paramount has widely released a UHD SteelBook packaging variant for the 2000 franchise Horror sequel film 'Scream 3.

the old Blu-ray palette, but here, the colors breathe in natural beauty and firm command of tonal accuracy. Perfectly perfunctory as a modern slasher film, horribly disappointing by the high standards set by this particular franchise.

Paramount Home Media Distribution is preparing a 4K Blu-ray release of Wes Craven's Scream 3 (2000), starring David Arquette, Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox, Patrick Dempsey, and Scott Foley.Whites dazzle with newfound brilliance and blacks delight with extraordinarily deep and pure stability. No new supplements have been added, but it’s an integral part of any movie-lovers Scream collection. In short, it looks the best it ever has but still falls short of a modern release (but that’s OK, we’ll give them a pass).

If you're a frequent IGN reader, you'll probably be most interested in using a PS5 or Xbox Series X to play your 4K UHD Blu-rays. Craven is bringing some more stylistic flair to this one, the haunting dream/nightmare sequences add a sense of the uncanny to the usually straightforward proceedings, but as ever, he gets the absolute best out of his core cast – Campbell’s arc here, from just about survivor at the beginning (working anonymously at a remote women’s refuge, hiding away from the world) to taking on the mannerisms of the franchise’s killer come it’s blood-soaked finale, gives the actor some real weighty subject matter to get her chops around and she demonstrates so ably why she is the beating heart of the series; Cox and Arquette continue their love/hate possible real-life meet-cute which remains utterly adorable thanks to the heart both bring to their roles; and even the new additions – from possible killers/red herrings Lance Henriksen and Patrick Dempsey to the cast playing the cast – whilst clearly window dressing, still manage to eke out the right tone of exuberant jollity to add to the film instead of taking away from it.The beautiful steelbook is beautiful and has gone into the collection with the other scream steelbooks.
